Observe courtesy. Most of your communication will take place over the internet. This means, you will be using every possible method of communication online such as instant messaging, email, and video conferencing. You need to observe courtesy at all times and be sensitive about the tone of your voice or the types of comments you make.

Respect your instructors. Just because communications are exchanged online does not mean you can disregard respect for your instructors or for the people on the other end. Remember, you need to take care of your professional relationships just as you do with your personal contacts. Your behavior as an online student can either have a good or bad effect in your search for a job later on.

Be committed to your education.
